His latest off the field endeavor is his endorsement of  TwinLab Power Fuel, a new supplement that according to the manufacturers, “Rapidly triggers increased intensity, focus, stamina and pump.” Does TwinLab Power Fuel work? Can it help transform your body to look more like Ray Lewis’?

TwinLab Power Fuel contains l-arginine and creatine which if dosed correctly can help increase lean muscle mass.

Ingredient Quality

TwinLab Power Fuel ingredient profile is a mixed bag.  It contains a  few quality ingredients such as caffeine, cinnamon bark, creatine, and l-arginine, but it also contains a  bunch of fillers. Since the makers of TwinLab Power Fuel don’t disclose the dosages of the ingredients, there is no way of knowing whether you get a sufficient dosage of its quality ingredients.

Consumer Reviews

Although there is the occassional positive review, most consumer reviews for TwinLab Power Fuel are negative. The biggest complaints are ineffectiveness and a bad taste.

“This is a good pre-workout if you don’t want one that makes you have a jittery feeling or the skin tingling feeling, I like it for my mid day workouts because it gets my blood flowing, my veins popping and it lasts the workout but not so long that I can’t sleep when I get home. The flavor is ok it could be better but over all I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a boost.”

“Mixed foamy. No negative side effects, but no noticeable energy boost either. Hard to get down too. Probably wouldn’t use again.”

“It tastes very much like supplements made in the late 80′s & early 90′s…..very, very, BAD. I also was not very impressed with the effects of the product. I felt lethargic in the gym and really had to struggle thru my workouts. Initially, I figured that one serving wasn’t enough so I bumped it up to two, then three scoops (packets). All this did was create more of this nasty concoction to swallow. I tried diluting it and adding more and more ice, but nothing helped the taste. It did make me sweat a lot, but that might have been from trying not to puke it back up. The bottom line is that this product isn’t very effective and tastes awful.”

Overall Value

Can TwinLab Power Fuel help you look more like Ray Lewis? Don’t count on it. There are few things that make me wary of recommending TwinLab Power Fuel:

• Compared to most workout drinks, the taste of TwinLab Power Fuel is terrible. It seemed like 80 percent of the consumer reviews that we looked at complained about the taste
• There is no money back guarantee
• Although TwinLab Power Fuel contains some quality ingredients, the dosages of those ingredients are hidden in proprietary blends
• Consumer reviews have been mixed

Because of the above reasons, expecting TwinLab Power Fuel to provide significant results is a big gamble especially considering there are clinically proven diet pills and workout supplements available for lower prices.
